There are a lot of things in this world that I love. My wife, my children, and my friends are all at the top of that list. But there is one other thing that I am absolutely obsessed with: I love coffee.
I remember the first time I ever tasted coffee. It was not love at first sip, however, since then coffee has become a part of my life. I started drinking it every morning, and soon began to appreciate the complex flavors that come with each cup.
Coffee is more than just a drink to me. My love for coffee is a passion.
How my love for coffee began
If my memory serves me right, it was about thirty years ago or so when I first started drinking coffee.
It was my first night job and I drank coffee to help me stay awake. I did not like the taste of coffee at first. It was bitter and I had to put a lot of sugar in it just to make it drinkable.
But as they say, necessity is the mother of invention. I started experimenting with different ways of making coffee and finally found a method that worked for me.
Which brings me to today. I love coffee! Can’t start my day without it! Did I say that I love coffee.
The different ways I’ve enjoyed coffee over the years
The love affair continues!
These days, I still enjoy drinking coffee every morning. But now I also enjoy experimenting with different types of coffee and brewing methods.
My favorite brewing method is my french press. I love the way the coffee tastes when it’s brewed with a french press. I also like to use my Keurig from time to time.
I’ve also enjoyed trying different types of coffee over the years. I’ve tried light roasts, medium roasts, dark roasts, flavored coffees, and even decaf.
I’ve even started thinking about roasting my own coffee beans, and I can’t tell you how much I believe I’ll enjoy that process.
I’m constantly amazed by the different ways that coffee can be enjoyed. I’m excited to continue my exploration of this delicious beverage and all the different ways it can be enjoyed.
I love coffee!
My current coffee routine and why I love it
My morning coffee routine is fairly simple. I don’t do anything complicated. I usually use either my french press or my Keurig.
For my Keurig, I have a permanent filter that I fill with the coffee of my choice. I like to use medium dark or dark roast because it’s really strong and the flavor is more robust.
I also add a little bit of heavy cream and some sugar to sweeten it up. Sometimes I’ll even add flavoring, like hazelnut or mocha.
I love my Keurig because it’s so quick and easy to make coffee. I can have a cup in just a few minutes.
The french press is a little more work, but I think it’s worth it.
I grind my own beans and then add them to the french press.
I like to use a medium roast for this because it has a more complex flavor.
After I add the water, I let it steep for about four minutes.
Then I press down on the plunger and pour myself a cup.
I usually add a little bit of milk to this, but sometimes I’ll drink it black.
I love coffee because it’s so rich and flavorful. It’s such a simple pleasure, but it’s one that I really enjoy. Every morning, I look forward to my first cup of coffee.
Why I Love Coffee
I remember back when I was a kid, if we had company over, after dinner the adults would sit back with a cup of coffee and just talk about whatever.
I would always watch with fascination as they took those small sips, and how their faces would light up when they talked about it. I knew even then that coffee was something special.
Nowadays, I love starting my day off with a hot cup of coffee. It’s the perfect way to wake up and get ready for the day ahead. But more importantly, coffee has become a way for me to connect with people.
Whether it’s catching up with an old friend over a cup of coffee, or meeting someone new, there’s something about sharing a cup of coffee that just makes the conversation flow. And I think that’s what I love most about coffee.
It brings people together.
So if you ever find yourself feeling lonely, or looking for someone to connect with, just remember that there’s always a cup of coffee waiting for you. Because coffee isn’t just a drink – it’s a story, and a love story at that.
